Add a splash of vibrant colour to your home with this unique handmade fused glass suncatcher, featuring bubbly red and clear glass with a touch of shimmering dichroic glass. The tactile design has a lovely sense of movement, with rounded glass beads creating an interesting textured surface that catches the light beautifully.
Handcrafted in my home studio in Brixham, Devon, this suncatcher is made using individual pieces of glass. The transparent coloured glass beads are created from glass frit, which is kiln-fired to soften and round the edges, transforming the small pieces of glass into smooth, rounded beads. These are then carefully arranged and fused onto clear glass, creating the distinctive bubbly effect. A touch of dichroic glass adds an extra flash of colour and sparkle when the light catches it.
As with all my fused glass suncatchers, this piece is individually handmade and has its own character. I enjoy experimenting with different colours, textures and techniques to create unique pieces of glass art.
Two holes have been drilled in the top corners and clear cord has been threaded through, ready to hang from a hook. Hook not supplied.
Measuring approximately 155mm x 48mm, this colourful suncatcher would make a striking addition to a sunny window or bright space where the light can shine through the glass and highlight its textures and colours.
