Description
Bring a touch of the coast to your home with this small handmade fused glass coastal suncatcher, featuring calming blue and bright yellow beach huts. The textured, tactile design catches the natural light beautifully, making it a lovely addition to a window or any space where you want to add a little coastal colour.
Handcrafted in my home studio in Brixham, Devon, this suncatcher is made using individual pieces of glass that are carefully cut, stacked and layered by hand. I also use glass powders and other small pieces of glass to build up the design before it is kiln-fired at high temperatures. The firing process fuses the layers together to create a unique piece of handmade glass art.
My fused glass suncatchers are made in small batches, and because each piece is individually handcrafted, every one has its own character. The combination of blue and bright yellow gives this design a cheerful coastal feel, inspired by the colourful beach huts found around the coast.
Measuring approximately 60mm x 69mm, the suncatcher has a hole drilled at the top and comes with a white ribbon threaded through, ready to hang. Place it in a sunny window and watch the colours change as the natural light moves across the glass throughout the day.
A lovely choice for anyone who enjoys the coast, colourful home décor or handmade glass art, it would also make a thoughtful gift for a beach lover or someone who has a special connection with the seaside.
